My Movie Scale

It's simple. Too simple.  I think too many times movies are rated with too much granularity.  I've boiled it down to a simple 5 star scale that makes movie rating subjectively objective!

While my tastes may not agree with everyone else's, I do have a pretty open film pallette, as any good movie critic should. The way I've defined the scale, it doesn't do well with half stars, although a movie could earn/lose half a star based on my indecisiveness but that happens rarely, if ever.

I didn't like it. I wished I could unwatch it.
This is the lowest rating for most online star ratings, so I wanted my scale to be compatible.
I would only recommend a 1-star movie to an enemy.

I didn't like it, but it wasn't a total waste of my time.
I, personally, would never watch it again, but I could see how people could actually like it.
I would not recommond a 2-star movie to my friends unless I thought they would specifically like it.

I liked it. I had a good time and enjoyed myself.
It wasn't great, it wasn't bad, this is the middle of the road.
I would watch 3-star movies again, but I wouldn't randomly choose to do so.
I would recommend 3-star movies to friends.

I really liked it! It wasn't amazing, but I had great laughs|suspense|horror throughout.
A big differentiator here is that 4-star movies are movies that I would easily watch again, maybe even spontaneously. I would highly recommend a 4-star movie to friends.

This rating is reserved for movies that I am in love with.
I would willingly watch a 5-star movie multiple (more than 2, even) times.
These are the movies that I have at home, too. Not only would I recommend 5-star movies to my friends, I would convince them to see the movie and I would most likely watch it with them.
